This cross brings together two well loved peppers. Poblano is known for low heat and smokey flavor. Jalapeno is the prototypical hot pepper – spicy, but not over the top. The pods pictured are from the original F1 hybrid plant. It had an intermediate pod shape and ripened through dark green to chocolate brown and finally brilliant red. The flavor encompasses the best of each parent, the flavor of the Poblano with heat from the Jalapeno.
